The short answer

Both start free and both have a $20 Pro plan, but they charge for different things. Vercel's Pro plan is $20 a month per developer seat and bills usage beyond its included amounts. Netlify's Pro plan is $20 a month for the whole team, and everything you use spends from a pool of 3,000 credits.

Vercel suits teams building Next.js apps who want its own platform features. Netlify suits teams with many smaller sites under one plan. If you'd rather pay a flat price per site with the team included, Cloudzyro is a third option.

Free plans

Vercel's Hobby plan is free but for personal, non-commercial use only, with 100 GB of Fast Data Transfer, 1 million CDN requests and 4 hours of active CPU for functions a month. Hobby can't buy more usage.

Netlify's free plan gives 300 credits a month as a hard limit. A production deploy costs 15 credits and each GB of bandwidth 20 credits, so a busy month can run out, and then every project on the account is paused until the next month.

Cloudzyro's Launch plan is free with business use allowed, 100 GB of traffic a month, and sites that never sleep or go offline.

Paid plans and team pricing

On Vercel Pro, each developer seat is $20 a month, with a $20 monthly usage credit, 1 TB of Fast Data Transfer and 10 million CDN requests included. Viewer seats are free. A team of three developers pays $60 a month before usage.

On Netlify Pro, $20 a month covers unlimited members with 3,000 credits. Extra credits come in packs of 1,500 for $10, so your bill depends on how many deploys, how much bandwidth and how much compute you use.

On Cloudzyro, Boost is $20 a month per site, with the team included and 1 TB of traffic for that site.

What a busy month costs

Vercel Pro charges from $0.15 per GB beyond 1 TB of transfer, and new teams get a default $200 on-demand budget, with an option to pause projects when it's reached.

Netlify spends 20 credits per GB of bandwidth. At the Pro credit pack price, that's about $0.13 per GB.

Cloudzyro never charges for traffic: a site past its allowance is slowed for the rest of the month and stays online. Boost sites can add 500 GB for $12 or 1 TB for $20 if they need more.

Which should you choose?

Choose Vercel if your app depends on Vercel's own features, such as its functions running in many regions, and per-seat pricing suits your team. Choose Netlify if you run many small static sites and want one plan for all of them. Choose Cloudzyro if you want a flat price per site, your whole team included, a free plan you can use for business, and a site that stays online when it gets busy.
