The short answer

Both host static sites and frontends from Git. Cloudflare Pages is the cheaper of the two: static requests are free and unlimited, and server code is billed as Workers. Netlify bills everything from a monthly pool of credits, and its free plan pauses every project when the credits run out. Note that Cloudflare now says to start new projects with Workers, which supports most Pages use cases. Cloudzyro is a third option for apps that need a full server.

Free plans

Cloudflare Pages' free plan serves static requests for free with no limit, allows 500 builds a month (one at a time), up to 20,000 files per site and 100 custom domains per project. Functions share the Workers free allowance of 100,000 requests a day.

Netlify's free plan has 300 credits a month as a hard limit: a production deploy costs 15 and each GB of bandwidth 20, and when the credits run out, every project on the account is paused until the next month.

Cloudzyro's Launch plan is free with business use allowed and 100 GB of traffic a month, and sites never sleep or pause.

Paid plans

Cloudflare's Workers Paid plan is a minimum of $5 a month per account, with 10 million requests included, then $0.30 per million, and no charges for data transfer. Netlify Pro is $20 a month for the whole team, with unlimited members and 3,000 credits; extra credits come in packs of 1,500 for $10. Cloudzyro Boost is $20 a month per site, with 2 CPUs, 2 GB of memory and 1 TB of traffic.

Busy months

On Cloudflare Pages, a traffic spike to static files costs nothing extra. On Netlify, bandwidth spends 20 credits per GB, about $0.13 at the Pro credit pack price, and free accounts can't buy more. On Cloudzyro, a site past its allowance is slowed for the rest of the month, never taken offline or charged extra.

Which should you choose?

Choose Cloudflare Pages, or Workers for new projects, if you're hosting static sites and want the lowest bill. Choose Netlify if you like its own features, such as forms, and one plan for the team. Choose Cloudzyro if your app needs a full Node.js server, always on, at a flat price per site, deployed from your AI tool, Git or a zip.
